H. Leon. Brooks, MD
Dr. Brooks was born in Capetown, South Africa, and received his undergraduate degree and medical degree at the University of Capetown. He completed his internship at Coronation Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, and his orthopedic surgery residency at Johannesburg General Hospital and the University of Witwatersrand. Dr. Brooks then became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Subsequently,
Dr. Brooks completed his pediatric orthopedic and spine surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada and an additional fellowship in spine surgery at Rancho Los Amigos/University of Southern California Medical Center.
Dr. Brooks is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery; he is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Olympia Medical Center, LAC-USC Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Brooks is currently an assistant Clinical Professor in Orthopaedic surgery at USC School of Medicine. He specializes in Agreed Medical Examinations, Independent Medical Examinations, and Qualified Medical Examinations involving workers’ compensation cases.
Dr. Brooks is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, British Orthopaedic Association, Scoliosis Research Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Brooks is a member of the California Orthopaedic Association, Western Orthopaedic Association, Los Angeles County Medical Association, and the American Board of Disability Analysts.
