Kathy M. Hughes, MHSc, PA-C
Kathy Hughes received her Masters in Health Science, Physician Assistant degree with a special Certificate in Corrections Medicine from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.
Kathy currently serves as the Physician Assistant to Dr. Ronald Karzel, where her responsibilities include: diagnosing orthopedic conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, conducting physical exams, and writing prescriptions. She also performs a variety of therapeutic injections in clinic, and provides preoperative and postoperative clinical assessments.
Prior to joining SCOI, Kathy worked in Nephrology and General Practice. Kathy's experience also includes working as one of only 35 Physician Assistants in the United Kingdom as an Urgent Care Practitioner.
In her free time Kathy enjoys traveling, horseback riding, and spending time outdoors. As a native of Iowa she and her family are enjoying all that Southern California has to offer.
