Andy Valenzuela, MPAP, PA-C was born in Bakersfield and is an alumnus of East Bakersfield High School, class of 2000. He grew up playing sports, focusing on baseball and football. Andy attended Bakersfield College and transferred to the University of California, San Diego, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology. After graduating, Andy worked for Lilly pharmaceuticals in San Diego as a research biologist focusing on monoclonal antibody technology.

Ultimately, Andy decided to pursue medicine and enrolled in the physician assistant program at the University of Southern California. He focused his clinical rotations on orthopedics and practiced with several local orthopedic surgeons. Andy has now joined Dr. Christopher Hamilton at Southern California Orthopedic Institute with the goal of providing the highest-quality orthopedic care. The focus of their team is to utilize evidence-based medicine to optimize the assessment and treatment of your orthopedic conditions. As a physician assistant, Andy assists Dr. Hamilton in performing clinical exams, providing therapeutic injections, and ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies.  

In Andy's free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, coaching Little League baseball, and watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and USC Trojans.
