Sydney Chung was born and raised in Queens, New York. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Stony Brook University. She worked as a medical scribe for a year in an oncology clinic while pursuing her dream of becoming a physician assistant. She completed her physician assistant program and received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Hofstra University. She became interested in orthopedic surgery during her clinical year of PA school, where she was able to rotate through multiple subspecialties of surgery.
Sydney works as a certified physician assistant to Dr. Karl Balch. She sees patients for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. She examines patients, orders and interprets labs and imaging studies, makes diagnoses, formulates treatment plans, prescribes medications, and performs hip and knee injections.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys dancing, gaming, hiking, traveling, and crocheting.
Sydney is available to see patients in the Bakersfield office.
