| Dr. Gazmarian was born and raised in Los Angeles and received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of California, Los Angeles. | |||
He then completed medical school at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Gazmarian completed his formal medical training by completing a general surgery internship at UCLA-Harbor General Hospital. His interest in musculoskeletal disorders led him back to UC-Irvine, where he completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Gazmarian then completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia, which included experience in caring for minor league athletes, the Columbus Red Stixx who are affiliated with the Cleveland Indians, and the Columbus Cottonmouth Hockey Team. He was also involved in the care of many national level soccer, softball, and golf athletes. Dr. Gazmarian joined the Southern Callfornia Orthopedic Institute Medical Group in 1998. He is currendy active in the care of student athletes in the greater Los Angeles area high schools and junior colleges. When Dr. Gazmarian is not spending time with his wife and children, he enjoys weight training, jogging, golfing, and water sports. Robert Gazmarian, M.D. is available to see patients at the Van Nuys and Bakersfield offices.
