"Dear Dr. Bahk:
I just wanted to write to let you know how much my family and I appreciate your medical care. My recent injury was serious enough to possibly alter my lifestyle. Thanks to your experience and skills in diagnosis, surgery, and rehabilitation, I am able to start living the lifestyle I enjoyed before my accident.
You have a great upbeat and positive manner. Your competent and reassuring care gave me the hope and encouragement I needed.
I’ve found the entire staff at SCOI to be phenomenal. Yyour office assistant is to be highly commended. She handled my many phone calls and questions with promptness, efficiency, and courtesy.
The rehabilitation center at SCOI is also very special. The personal attention I have received from the staff has been fabulous. They designed unique exercises to bring my hamstrings back to working order. Paying close attention to detail, they have monitored my progress with a smile and encouraging demeanor. I’m absolutely thrilled over my care at SCOI. I’ll be recommending you and SCOI to my family and friends. Thanks again for being there for me, and helping my family and me get through a rough patch in our lives. We appreciate you immensely!!
“Dear Dr. Bahk:
I wanted to write to tell you how much I appreciated the work you did on my shoulder and how much I respect you as a physician. I called and left a message with your assistant, but I felt this was not adequate to express my gratitude.
I may have mentioned I don't really like doctors. I started working in hospitals when I was 17 and since then I have seen a few excellent examples of men and women who respect their patients, and treat them with dignity regardless of their age or the nature of their complaint.
I have had the good fortune to have several of these "miracle doctors" both as colleagues and personal physicians. You have joined the list of doctors I would gladly recommend to my friends and family, as well as any patient who had a problem that falls within your specialty.
I appreciate your bedside manner, your willingness to listen to my description of my feelings and progress (or lack of it), your willingness to let me choose the physical therapist I wished to see, your lack of negativity when I complained of pain, and for that matter, your positive manner in general.
You took the time to explain (and re-explain when necessary) the course of treatment; you not only allowed me to be the patient but insisted on it, despite the fact that I have been in nursing for 40+ years. You encouraged me to follow your treatment plan and not get frustrated or impatient with my progress. I must admit that other than my abdominal surgeon, you engendered more trust immediately than anyone else I've ever seen.
Mostly I wanted to tell you what a fantastic doctor you are and that you have won my respect for your professionalism, excellence of treatment, and patient relations.
Thank you for being a terrific doctor and for having restored my faith in the medical community so I know there are still physicians like you out there. I am sure you will maintain your standards and will have hundreds of satisfied patients like me in your career.

“In Regards to Dr. Shapiro:
Personally being a super cross motocross racer as a teen to then, at the height of my career, running on the Nascar S.W. Tour, I've fractured quite a few ribs, a wrist, elbow, hands, fingers, shoulders and ankles a few times, and the collarbone more times than I'd care to remember. Never in obtaining care have I been treated so well. Dr. Shapiro is confident, decisive, and takes action in a positive way to ensure the future of his patient - this time being me. His knowledgeable yet caring bedside manner is one that I believe other MDs should strive to have.
I commend Dr. Shapiro for seeing a needed task before him, getting the wheels turning on it, and at the same time treat patients such as he did with me, with respect that he simply doesn't 'have to.' His 'nature' is one in which respect for another is held high, which brings back much respect and good will from patients. I've seen many doctors through the years and I must say dealing with Dr. Shapiro, there was no lack of clarity in discussing my injury and how it would be treated.
I'm extremely pleased and will refer others to this doctor for his outstanding work with me. As I work with many parents and children annually, I hope that any needing help can get it from Dr. Shapiro.
“Dear Dr. Guanche,
I wanted to thank you for removing the spurs on my hip and adding to the quality of my life. I really thought I was just getting old and there was nothing that could be done. It was quite a journey starting with Dr. XXXX and from there going to Dr. XXXX and finally getting to you.
I really appreciate your talent and I understand you’re on the cutting edge of hip surgery. I had no pain and no one could believe it.
I know you’re giving an instructional course at the Academy. They couldn’t have anyone better than you teaching the course.
If you ever want a scared patient to talk with me before surgery, I would be more than happy to help with patient education, from first hand experience. Frankly I look forward to having you do my other hip. I just want you to know you’re my new best friend.

“Dear Dr. Bahk,
I wanted to thank you for your knowledge, skill, and expertise as a fabulous surgeon gifted in the orthopedic field. Thanks to your "work” and help with my shoulder – the terrible 24/7 pain has been essentially relieved. I cannot relate to you how deeply grateful I am to you for all you have “given” to me! I also appreciate greatly your caring personality in today’s world of medicine. Thank you for making my life easier.
Just wanted to let you know how great my knee is doing (Jan. 08’ – torn meniscus w/you)… I bump skied this year – thank you again!

Thanks for showing us that there are doctors in this world that are willing to go above and beyond. Most doctors are in such a hurry that they barely catch your name. Thankfully, that’s not you! We are incredibly thankful for your careful attention to any and every detail regarding my care. We think you rock and you’re truly a class act doctor!
“Dear Dr. Moldawer,
I celebrated a birthday a couple of months ago. I am now the ripe age of 80. And my spine still works as well as when you operated on me back in 1988.
I do a light workout at a nearby gym three to four days a week which I’m sure helps my back remain supple and firm in the right places. Last week I signed up with a trainer to devise a regimen that would help me stay in good shape over the next twenty years or so. The trainer made the statement to me that virtually all back problems are caused by bad posture. it was than I thought of you and your marvelously executed surgery.
I thank you once again,

“Dear Dr. Molnar:
Thank you for seeing me yesterday concerning my back injury. I have encountered many Physicians in my 40 years in Health Care but never anyone so incredible as you. The time you were willing to spend with me explaining in detail your evaluation, your compassion about the pain and your willingness to go beyond the back injury and point out that there was no signs of arthritis showing in my hip area.
Congratulations for going beyond the basics and I clearly understand why XXXX feels so strong about having you do our Workers' Compensation cases.
You are the best I have ever encountered.

“Dear Dr. Guanche,
For many years I have been struggling with a shoulder that needed replacement. I went to at least ten of the most renowned orthopedic doctors in Los Angeles trying to find a way to ease my pain and regain some range of motion. Everyone sent me to Dr. Carlos Guanche at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute, and they were right!
After having my shoulder replaced my range of motion is back and I am pain free for the first time in ten years. The care given to me was excellent – from the hospital to physical therapy. Thanks to Dr.Guanche and everyone at Southern California Orthopedic Institute for helping to change my quality of life.
“To Whom it may Concern,
I would like to inform you that Dr. Barcohana referred me to: Southern California Orthopedic Institute. The service and care they have provided is outstanding, from the staff’s politeness to the professional environment in which they care for their patients, and on a scale from one through ten, I would give it a huge ten.

“Dear Dr. Moldawer:
I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for helping me get my life back! (By sending me to your wonderful Physical Therapy Department…)
I have been seeing Brian and Phil. With Brian’s supervision, Phil has spent time helping me relieve my pain and showing me how to strengthen and care for my back. I have no pain and I am slowly going back to my activities.
My sincere thanks and compliments to you on employing such competent, friendly and caring staff.
