Cody Tapp grew up in the mountain west, where he enjoyed sports and being outdoors. He participated in track and field, cross country, skiing, basketball, and football. For as long as Cody can remember, he has enjoyed studying anatomy and has been interested in sports medicine. In high school, he was a member of his school’s athletic training and emergency response teams. Cody later attended Brigham Young University-Idaho where he received a bachelor’s degree in health science, then moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he earned a master of medical science degree from Salus University. As a PA student, Cody elected to do an orthopedic rotation, which solidified his interest and desire to practice medicine in the field of orthopedics.
As a certified physician assistant at Southern California Orthopedic Institute, Cody works with Dr. Michael Bahk in our Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and Van Nuys clinics, as well as assisting him in the operating room. As an orthopedic PA, he is able to diagnose your musculoskeletal issues, order and interpret imaging and laboratory studies, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, and perform various types of injections.
Outside of the clinic, Cody enjoys spending time with his family and continues to enjoy running, sports, and being outdoors. Cody is fluent in Spanish, which allows him to better assist his Hispanic patients.
