Katie Williams was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and received her bachelor of science degree in exercise science with an emphasis in athletic training at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Katie then completed her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, in 2007. Since graduation, she has worked as a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery in Missouri prior to moving to California and joining SCOI.
As a physician assistant at SCOI, Katie assists Dr. Mark Getelman in the office, as well as in the operating room as a surgical assistant. In clinic, she evaluates orthopedic conditions for the shoulder and knee. Katie performs physical examinations, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, makes diagnoses, formulates treatment plans, performs injections, and provides patient education. She practices at the Thousand Oaks office, as well as the Van Nuys office.
In Katie's free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the city, working out, reading, and most recently, learning how to golf.
