Lucila was born in Brownsville, Texas, and moved to California with her family. Lucila graduated from San Jose State University and is certified in hand therapy.

Lucila always knew she wanted to study medicine and discovered occupational therapy through a colleague who was entering the field. After completing some prerequisites for nursing, Lucila worked in an outpatient clinic that had an array of services, including physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Her time in that clinic led Lucila to the decision that occupational therapy was the right choice for her. Since then, Lucila has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, home health, outpatient rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, and occupational medicine.

In her spare time, Lucila enjoys running, hiking, gardening, and horseback riding.

Lucila is available to see patients at the Center for Rehabilitation – Bakersfield office.
