Maria was born in Los Angeles and graduated from CSUN with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a minor in Athletic Training. While in school, Maria worked as a team trainer with semi-pro football teams and college sports teams, including the CSUN track and field team. Several athletes whom Maria helped rehab from injuries have won in national competitions. Maria also worked for four years in the adaptive physical therapy clinic while at CSUN.

Maria has been a physical therapy assistant for over 30 years. Maria has worked with athletes of all ages and levels, in both in-patient and out-patient clinics as well as in skilled nursing facilities. Maria also has working experience in home health.

In Maria’s spare time, she volunteers with her son's track and cross-country teams as well as with her daughter's volleyball team. Maria likes camping in the mountains, on the beach, and at the river. She especially loves jet skiing, water skiing, swimming, hiking, and traveling.

Maria is available to see patients at the Center for Rehabilitation Medicine – Van Nuys office.
