Marlene is from Hanford, California, and attended Loma Linda University. Marlene’s school affiliation landed her a role in a hand rehabilitation facility in Loma Linda. Marlene also has a master's degree in Human Development with a specialty in Gerontology. Since graduating, Marlene has been a practicing occupational therapist for more than thirty years.

Marlene’s professional experience as an occupational therapist began as a neurologic rehabilitation therapist at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. During her time with Rancho Los Amigos Hospital, Marlene worked with orthopedists, physiatrists, specialized physicians, and physical therapists. Marlene also had the opportunity to work closely with the cast room to design arm and hand casts.

When Marlene is not working at Southern California Orthopedic Institute, she teaches ethics and other classes for certification for individuals employed by the state’s Seniors Centers.

Marlene is available to see patients at the Center for Rehabilitation Medicine – Van Nuys office.
