Emily Fish provides the services of physician assistant to Dr. Steven Schopler at Southern California Orthopedic Institute's Bakersfield office, focusing on orthopedic spine disorders, surgery, and pediatric orthopedics. As a physician assistant, she assists Dr. Schopler in surgery, performs physical exams, orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic studies, performs diagnostic and therapeutic injections, makes diagnoses and formulates treatment plans, manages conditions, writes prescriptions, and makes hospital visits.

Emily received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis in exercise biology. She then received two master's degrees in physician assistant studies and public health from Touro University in Northern California.

Emily's interest in orthopedics began with her interest in numerous sports and athletic activities growing up. Before working at Southern California Orthopedic Institute, she worked in trauma and orthopedics at Kern Medical Center. Outside of her medical commitments, she enjoys soccer, cycling, triathlons, and skiing.
