Dr. Jonathan Ramin was born and raised in Los Angeles. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from UCLA, where he majored in psychology and graduated with honors. After completing his undergraduate degree, he volunteered as a paramedic in Israel for Magen David Adom, Israel’s Red Cross. He went on to receive his medical degree from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. He completed his internship at Crozer Keystone’s Delaware County Memorial Hospital and residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He was appointed chief resident and nominated by his peers for Mount Sinai’s Institute for Medical Education Excellence in Teaching Award. In addition to publishing several textbook chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, and podcasts, Dr. Ramin received multiple recognitions for his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic where he was redeployed to the front lines at both Mount Sinai and Elmhurst Hospital.
Dr. Ramin then completed his fellowship in interventional spine and sports medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. During his training, he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He served as a team physician for sports teams and sporting events locally, nationally, and internationally, including USA Boxing, American football, the United States Australian Football League, and multiple New York Road Runners events. Additionally, he served as a team physician in Doha, Qatar, for USA Fencing during the Olympic qualifying events. He completed his fellowship in June 2021 and practiced in Hartford, Connecticut, for one year before joining Southern California Orthopedic Institute.
He is double-board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and sports medicine. His practice focuses on comprehensive nonsurgical spine and musculoskeletal care, including a wide array of interventional X-ray guided cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine procedures, medial branch and genicular nerve blocks, diagnostic ultrasounds, ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections, and electrodiagnostics (EMGs). Dr. Ramin received additional training and certifications to perform advanced techniques using bone marrow concentrate aspirate, microfragmented adipose tissue, and TENEX™.
Dr. Ramin lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife and son. He enjoys spending time with family, playing basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, and composing music on the piano.
Providing care for patients with nonsurgical spine and sports medicine needs, Dr. Ramin is available to see patients in Van Nuys and Valencia.
