Carrie Alejandro was born and raised in Bakersfield, California, where she graduated from Bakersfield Christian High School. She enjoyed all sports but competed in volleyball, basketball, and softball. She went on to play softball at the collegiate level at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB).
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on exercise science as well as her master's degree in business administration with a focus on healthcare management from CSUB. She then went on to Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, where she received her Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies.
Carrie’s interest in the field of orthopedics and sports medicine began with a long career in athletics. She provides the services of physician assistant to Dr. Todd Shapiro at Southern California Orthopedic Institute.
