Four weeks ago, I had back surgery, and I already have great improvement. I can stand a little straighter. “I am a 62-year-old woman that underwent a lumbar double fusion on March 12, 2013. Dr. Mouradian promised me it would be minimally invasive, as I was concerned that I would no longer be able to participate in many outdoor activities that I enjoy, such as mountain biking, windsurfing, and horseback riding. When he said minimally, he really meant it. From the moment I woke up, after the five and a half hour surgery, I could tell my back muscles and nerves were intact. I was able to get up and use the bathroom that same night, took a shower the next day, which was followed by discharge the following morning. Incredible!! I did go to physical therapy for six sessions prior to the surgery and spent the two months prior doing the core strengthening exercises they taught me. In other words, when I went in for surgery, I was as strong as I could get. I'm sure that paid off, and I have continued those same exercises post-surgery. It's interesting, but I have a much better form in each of the sports I participate in, since my core muscles are so much stronger than they used to be. I would highly recommend minimally invasive spine surgery from Dr. Mouradian if you are a candidate for it. “I have had Dr. Mouradian as my orthopedic surgeon since 2001, as well as a few others. I have many back problems and have had to have many surgeries. The few surgeries that were NOT performed by Dr. Mouradian did not turn out well. Dr. Mouradian and his staff are awesome. Dr. Mouradian always addresses every issue, is conservative, forward thinking, kind, caring, and listens to what I have to say. I am from California, however, I now live in Tennessee and I was recently told I need neck surgery now. I would not accept anyone else’s opinion.
