Dr. Richard Ferkel Performs Successful Surgery on Heat Guard Dion Waiters
Richard D. Ferkel, MD, director of the sports medicine fellowship program at Southern California Orthopedic Institute, performed surgery on Miami Heat shooting guard Dion Waiters' left ankle. The Heat announced that Waiters underwent successful surgery on his left ankle on Monday, January 22, 2018, to repair instability after spraining it twice in nine months as well as repair a preexisting navicular bone fracture.
