Kara Wehrs was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in human biology from the University of Kansas. As a Jayhawk, she competed on their varsity volleyball team for all four years. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her interest in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine began with a long career in athletics.
Kara provides physician assistant services to Dr. Steve Kwak and Dr. Jared Niska. She sees patients for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, examines patients, orders and interprets labs and imaging studies, makes diagnoses, formulates treatment plans, prescribes medications, and performs injections for the shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, and hand.
Kara spends her free time outdoors. She continues to play sand volleyball, hike, surf, visit farmers' markets, and spend time at the beach. She enjoys traveling and hopes to continue expanding her international travel.
Kara is available to see patients at our Van Nuys and Valencia offices.
